Report on Survey of Waterwatch and EstuaryWatch volunteers within the Corangamite region to add to the strategic review of the programs. The objective of this project was to undertake a survey of active citizen science monitors in the Corangamite region to:

  • Understand what monitors expect and value in relation to the current citizen science programs,
  • Identify issues, challenges and opportunities that exist to broaden the reach of the programs, and
  • Identify recommendations for future improvements to integrate community engagement with waterway management outcomes.

This report will assist in understanding how to sustain and enhance the programs into the future. This survey was designed to complement the existing state-wide review of Waterwatch and EstuaryWatch.  The survey included current and former Corangamite volunteers, that have been or currently are active in the existing Waterwatch and EstuaryWatch programs since the introduction of the 2015 Plan for Waterwatch and Plan for EstuaryWatch. This report presents the results from the volunteer survey.
